American Idol Experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios opened to cast members this morning January 5, 2009, at 9am with shows at 11, 1 and 4pm. Things ran smoothly although attendance was a little less than desired. Show runs just over half an hour with a seating capacity of 1000. The cast of the hit Broadway musical lands on Main Street, USA, in the Magic Kingdom to perform the classic number, "Supercal..." (Can you spell it?) as part of the 25th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade. Walking along I hear marching military music and try to find it's source. It's The Spirit of America. I shot this footage around June 30, 1997. You will see colonial soldiers and Disney Characters hanging out there. It was fun.
