Direct from the Beijing Games where he won a record eight Gold Medals, world champion swimmer Michael Phelps celebrated his unprecedented achievement with an all-American homecoming parade in his honor at Walt Disney World Resort. In a star-spangled salute amidst confetti and thousands of flag-waving fans in the Magic Kingdom, Phelps was honored for his record-setting wins and for the spirit in which he captivated the world in his quest for Gold. The 23-year-old from Baltimore beamed as he rode through the park alongside Mickey Mouse, waving to fans who chanted his name. Magic Kingdom guests joined in “America’s Homecoming Parade” for the swimmer who broke records in each event he entered in Beijing. For Phelps, who also was honored in Disney parades at both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland Park in California following the 2004 Summer Games, it was a sweet homecoming to the United States and to see fans who supported him in his quest for Gold in Beijing. “I am so happy to celebrate here and see some of the fans who supported me,” said Phelps. “It’s great to feel so much excitement around the sport of swimming in the U.S. and around the world. To top it all off with a parade at Disney World is just incredible.” During his celebration in the Magic Kingdom, Phelps also took time to meet a group of local swimmers from the central Florida area. The aspiring young swimmers had the chance to talk with Phelps, ask about his record-breaking experiences and see the Gold Medals he won in Beijing. Phelps, who has announced he will train for the 2012 Games, now owns the record for most Gold Medals in a single event (8) and for a career (14).

The Princess and the Frog is an upcoming animated musical feature film currently being produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and based upon the classic fairy tale The Frog Princess. It will be the first traditionally animated (2-D) feature film in Disney's animated features canon since 2004's Home on the Range. It is being directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, directors of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, with songs and score composed by Randy Newman and starring the voice talents of Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, John Goodman, Jenifer Lewis, Angela Bassett and Peter Bartlett. Dreamgirls star Anika Noni Rose is providing the voice for the lead character, Tiana. This film will be an American fairy tale musical set in New Orleans during the 1920s Jazz Age, and Tiana will be the first Black Disney Princess. This film has it all from voodoo, to a love sick lighting bug. This movie is sure to take its place in Movie history and sure to become an instant classic.

The voice cast includes John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Susie Essman (Jeff's wife from 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'), 'Inside the Actors Studio' host, James Lipton, and Randy "The Macho Man" Savage. There is new animation technology being used in the film that gives the images a soft brush stroke look. The makers are awaiting a patten. For super-dog BOLT (voiced by Travolta), every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue— at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet—a cross-country journey through the real world. Armed only with the delusions that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and with the help of two unlikely traveling companions: a jaded, abandoned housecat named Mittens (voiced by Essman) and a TV-obsessed hamster in a plastic ball named Rhino, Bolt discovers he doesn’t need superpowers to be a hero.

Randy Pausch’s “Last Lecture”, Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams. Sadly, Pausch, who completed sabbaticals at Walt Disney Imagineering and Electronic Arts (EA),died this morning at age 47 after fighting terminal Pancreatic Cancer, one brick wall that very few people ever conquer. His death was much too soon but Pausch leaves behind a family and a community that is richer in the things that really matter in life. I just watched this and soaked up inspiration. I hope you’ll take an hour to let a little of Pausch’s important message into your life.

This is some footage of the firework show at Walt Disney World's Pirate and Princess Party. An after hours party that runs periodically through out the year. This party was a blast, they have a treasure hunt and a super parade and this fireworks show had me catching my breathe in a few spots. Way to go Disnay.
